Welcome to the Sydney Royal Easter Show 2022 Volunteer Expression of Interest Form

The Sydney Royal Easter Show is the largest annual ticketed event in Australia and our amazing volunteers in green help pull it all together! Our volunteer team has been operating for more than 20 years and we are still going strong! With over 500 volunteers within our program, we want you to be part of the action and experience one of the most unique volunteering opportunities in Australia.

Note: Minimum age requirement to volunteer at the Sydney Royal Easter Show is 16 years of age and you must have a valid Working With Children number if you are 18 years or over.

Why volunteer?

While you are around the Showground providing excellent customer service to our guests and making new friends, we are working hard to make sure that you are well looked after. Below are some of the benefits of joining our program!  

·       You have exclusive access to our Volunteer Green Room. This is your space to chill, catch up with mates or make new friends! This is our home base.

·       You receive a double pass to the Show to share with your friends or family.

·       Your Show accreditation pass allows you to get into the Show for 12 days. This means that on the days you are not volunteering, you can get into the Show, free of charge!

·       We provide you with the uniform that includes a polo shirt, a cap or bucket hat, a water bottle, and a belt bag big enough to fit everything you will need in it for your shift. 

·       You will have a ton of training material and the information available to you to so you can perform your volunteer duties to the best of your ability. 

·       We throw a team a Thank You event after the Show. This is a great opportunity where you can catch up with your mates, celebrate our volunteer of the year and service awards, and look back on Show highlights.  We also host a Christmas party & other social events.

·       There are opportunities to volunteer at our sporting matches, exhibitions, or concerts as well as music festivals!

What can I do?

·       Bring a can-do attitude, a welcoming smile, and a willingness to help wherever needed.

·       Assist us across a variety of roles and venues including General Ushers, Show Information, Children's Activities.

·       Complete a minimum of 5 shifts over the 12 days of the Show, the most help needed is over our busy days (i.e., weekends/Public Holidays).

·       Have a valid Volunteer Working With Children Check number if you are 18 years and over.

·       Please note: Volunteering at the Show requires a level of fitness as walking and standing are involved in all our roles. As the Show is an agriculturally based event, you may be in the presence of, or in close proximity to, all types of food produce, plants, and animals including, but not limited to, flowers, peanuts, hay, straw, livestock, horses, poultry, or domestic animals.

Working With Children Checks (WWCC)

If you are eighteen years or older, in order to volunteer at the Show, it is a legal requirement that you possess a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC). The WWCC is free for Volunteers and is valid for five years.

Note: If you are under eighteen for the 2022 Show, you are not required to provide a WWCC.
